Hi love, what a horrible situation to be left in limbo.  Have you got the phone number of the McMillan nurse, if you have then call and speak to them.  Or call the hospice and tell them who you are and ask to speak to someone who is caring for Mum.  Hospices can care for Cancer patients and she probably needs proper help as its all too much to cope with in your own.  The Moderators on this site may help you more and I'm sure one will be able to reply soon.  Hopefully this helps you a little bit.  Carol

I'm just lost, confused, does this mean that's it, how do I help but be really positive around her what can I do?

This is the thing no number to mcmillian nurse caring for her as she never got round to sending my mum her details etc and as she has only just been referred today to the hospice I can not even phone them and ask what's the situation can you be honest with me I'm just in black cloud but thank you so much

If you have Mums hospital details call them tomorrow ans ask for the phone number of her nurse. Explain what has happened and then call her. The are very busy so leave a name and number to call back but make sure to say who you are and Mums name. I can't help with how I'll Mum is but they want ll be honest with you. My Nan had bone,lung cancer which spread to her liver. Docs then decided to stop chemo as her blood count was too low. She deteriorated very quickly! We took her to A&E and from there she was admitted in to the hospice. She never left the hospice and was there only 5 days until she transitioned. From my own experience, the Hospice was the best place for her to feel comfortable 24hr pain meds and caring nurses. We visited each day and spent every hour with her, the nurses even made us lovely beds to camp over the nights with her. 
 

my advice to you would be to get in touch with the nurses/care team, and ask why the hospice was recommended and find out just how poorly mum is. From my experience hearing the mention of hospice was very frightening. Definitely speak to them and ask them to clearly explain everything to you.
