Mum has Glioblastoma

So my mum was diagnosed with a glioblastoma 8 weeks ago and is finishing her treatment this week, chemo and radio together! My mum is only 61 and it's only me and my mum I have no brothers or sisters, I have a 19 month old daughter and am also pregnant with my second baby! It's a very stressful time and I can't imagine my life without my mum being there! The consultant told her the treatment could give her 2 months or two years they won't know until she has another scan which isn't until July! Just looking for someone in a similar situation to have a chat with really! People don't really understand unless there in a similar situation!

  • I was diagnosed with GBM4 in July 2019. I had an operation and followed the chemo and radiotherapy route. My consultant gave the standard 12 to 15 months scenario, I am still here and never take each day for granted. It was upsetting for my wife and children but you cannot dwell on the negative and focus on the positive. Enjoy every day. Dr Google has a lot to answer for. Everyone is different so a timescale is just a measure that fluctuates. Keep positive.
