Clothes advice

Hello

I feel rather non deserving of your time but it's for my father in law who's a absolute gent so I'll hopefully be quick.

he has stage 4 melanoma and is a wee soul. He has a large tumour at the top of his leg which is stopping him from really wanting to wear anything. Whilst I totally understand that we have a 7 yr old and he wants to keep his dignity if possible.

i bought long men's nightshirts but they don't seem to do the job.

could anyone suggest anything?

love and prayers for everyone xxxx

  • Oh bless him.

Have you tried baggy tracksuit bottoms? Get a larger size so the legs are extra baggy but ensure the waist is elasticated so he can adjust them to fit?

  • Hi, My late Dad had  multiple scarring related to wartime issues, and found he got on best with M&S PJs which always seemed quite baggy, He usually had thick terry dressing gowns, but on holiday one year, there wasnt room in the suitcase for it, so Mum bought him a kimono thing out of floaty patterned blue and white l ightweightfabric, and he loved it, Not very "boyish", but he liked that it was lightweight and tidy when belted. Mum teased him it looked like somthing out of a Samurai tv show he watched when I was a kid, so ages ago!

  • Hello

Thanks Angie, yes, tried many sizes and brands but he's seemingly too sore and prefers to hang loose.

Poland that's a good idea, I'll have a look today.

We've go carers in now so they are better at getting him to button up the long mens nightshirts and my best purchase are harem pants, think mc hammer. He loves them as the crouch is at his knees, swinging lose and all covered up. Just have to get them off him now to wash

Many thanks for all the help
