Chemotherapy - does wearing cold gloves/socks help?

My partner is due to start chemo in coming weeks, i have heard somewhere that wearing cold gloves and socks can help, has anybody done this? Does it help? Are they just normal socks and gloves?

  • Hello SarahG77,

Yes you need Thermal gloves and socks, and yes they really are needed by most people.Five years on l find l still need to wear thermal gloves, but since l am left with neuropathy in the feet and have little feeling,l only wear the socks if its really cold outside,

  • Hi Sarah

It depends on the person and type of chemo.. I was on docetaxel which is a strong one. All i had was pins and needles in feet. And didn't wear anything special. Like i say it can vary with person. Good luck with his treatment.
