Essential thrombocythemia

Hello everyone, 

I hope you are doing fine. 

My mum is diagnosed with ET about 3 months ago and she has been using hydroxyurea tablets, thromboreductin and aspirin. She has been doing fine and her platelets count has been normal until a few days ago. 

Suddenly, she started having nose bleed almost everyday. 

I would be very grateful if know anything about this and can advise me.

    I'm sorry to read about the difficulties your mum has been having. Unfortunately I'm not able to advise on this - it would best to discuss this with your mum's doctor if you can.

    Hi muz,and hi to all, my name is John I have just joined I was having nose bleeds every day my doctor has given me a spray called Avamys nasal spray and it works .at least something does had ET for 2 years now ,still feeling horrible inside my arms hands feet and legs ache all the time. That's enough about me I could go on all day look forward to chatting to you all thanks john

    Thank you very much for your reply and for sharing your experience with us. 

     

    I have just found out that my mother's platelets has been high, so let's see what the doctor say. I will ask about the spay you mentioned as well. Thank you and I hope a little excercise and occasional pain killer will help you too.

    Thank you for your reply. The test yesterday showed her platelets high so we are going to see the doctor and see what he says.
