Introduction

Hi

I'm new to all this. My partner has been diagnosed with cancer and it's  been a huge shock to us both. He is due to start chemotherapy on Monday. He was meant to start it last week but had an infection so it had to be delayed. We're hoping his bloods are ok on Monday for chemo to go ahead. I'm worried though, he's been quite poorly and I'm just scared the chemo makes him worse and my ability to stay strong for him through all this. Any advice would be appreciated .

  • Hi misha, you don't say where his cancer is, that can make a difference with what treatment and if he will be ill, its not just the patient who suffers but all the family. You will manage OK it's surprising how people do, it's like a natural instinct. Mainly just be there for him.... Best wishes.... Billy

  • Thanks for your reply Billy. I think it's just the fear of the unknown. My partner has cancer of the gallbladder and liver and we've been told it isn't cureable but we are hoping the chemo helps. You yourself have a lot going on with your own diagnosis and your caring role too. I hope you have good support around you as I do from family and friends. Thank you again for replying. I appreciate it.
