Getting started

Hi all

Hope you had a good Christmas  Hazel I read your blog and the steak and chips sounds amazing.

Hubby had his first radiotherapy session yesterday and it went well.  Having first chemo as we speak. Fingers crossed he doesnt react too badly.

I remeber someone talking about chewing gum to help with the dry mouth  I've had a look back through this chat but cant find where I saw it mentioned.  Can anyone help - is it a specific type of gum or just any sugar free variety.

  • Hello Herbie.

I can see from your post here that you've mentioned Hazel (aka [@RadioactiveRaz]‍ ) and that you were looking back through the chat searching for the name of a gum that others had found helpful.
Your response has come up as a new thread - I'm not sure if that's technical gremlins our end or yours; I'll let the office team know just in case - but I wanted to reply to let you know so that you could repost your comment on the thread here which is where you've previously been chatting to others.

I hope this makes sense but please do let us know if you have any problems.

    Best wishes,

The chewing  gum must be sugar free and if you read the ingredients it’s better if xylitol is listed before sorbitol. You can buy xyitol gum from Holland’s and Barrett’s under the brand names peppersmith but uts quite expensive. What I get it’s the orbit gum in blue  in tubs from supermarket and now chew it for a while then let it rest in my cheek if that makes sense.

Yes the rib eye and chips were a real treat ,

    onwards and upwards

once treatment starts you do get into a routine of sorts.

glad my blog is helping just keep, popping back I will update as and when’s m I see my oncologist again for year,y review 6 January so will pop an updated 8n
