Dad diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer stage IV

Hi all,

After testing in mod Nov my dad has been diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer stage IV, a biopsy was done and on Dec 6 the oncologist met him and said across the desk that he wouldn't be able for chemotherapy

My dad is 77.

We have taken him home and looked after him for past 9 days looking after pain management with oxycotin and oxynorm etc.

I need some advice as to what to expect, to me he has deteriorated much since he came home, yes he is weak and in some pain at times.

My mother is 72 and trying to look after him. I live 74 miles away so up and down as often as I can

Any advice is welcome

  • Hi,

I’m new to this only yesterday. So all a little raw. Mums third encounter with Breast Cancer

I'm hoping there is some one who can help you. I live some way from my parents who are in their 70’s. Mum has stage IV too. Need to make sure my Dad gets through this as his health is not the best but he does well.

Lots of information out there but better to talk I guess.

I’m more than happy to chat as we have a tough year ahead.
