8 years ago my wife had a mole on her foot. After being misdiagnosed by the GP (3 times) she was eventually referred to dermatologist........it turned out to be Melanoma. Surgery followed and a chunk of her foot was removed along with lymph nodes in her groin. My wife endured wearing horrid compression tights for 3 years and in 2016 she was give the all clear.
Fast forward to November 2019 and she has now a lump the size of a golf ball under her skin on the side of her knee....it is Melanoma, which took us by great surprise. It took 5 weeks to diagnose and we are awating results from head MRI and torso CT Scan. We hope to discuss a treatment plan on 2nd December...over 7 weeks from initial GP visit. We don't know yet if she will require immunotherapy/chemotherapy after surgery. Does anyone else have experience with large Melanoma growths under the skin? We are both so worried that this is incurable.
