I'm sorry that your brother's immunotherapy had to be stopped and can understand your concern about what happens next.

Unfortunately I haven't been able to find anyone with the same diagnosis who is in a similar situation at the present time but I did see that a member called [@Ruthn123]‍ revealed last year they were having immunotherapy for stage 4 melanoma. I'm not sure if they're still having it or if their treatment has stopped but either way, lets cross our fingers that they pick up on this post and pop back to share their experience with you.

I'm a Stage 3 melanoma patient so I don't have personal experience of this situation but I do know of some patients who have stopped immunotherapy because of toxic side effects. In many cases these patients are still showing a good response a long time after their last treatment so it's believed that the response from immunotherapy keeps working. Because this treatment is still only a few years old they only have 4 years worth of data to show how long patients are responding to the treatment after they stop mid cycle but it's still encouraging. Sometimes patients also restart treatment if their side effects resolve themselves but his consultant won't want to raise his hopes until they see if his liver count starts to recede. I'm afraid it's a waiting game to see how things go which I know is difficult but hopefully your brother will continue to be a responder.

Hi I've just come across this. I was searching online for answers for my mum. She has stage 4 melanoma, I'm not sure of specific details. She is such a private person and burries her head in the sand at every opportunity so getting details is hard. But she called today quite upset as her treatment of immunotherapy has been stopped due to blood tests showing her liver is reacting badly. 
I can't seem to find any info online. Wondering what this could mean for her.
