What stage of diagnosis are you assigned a Macmillan nurse?

At what stage in your diagnosis are you assigned a Macmillan nurse?am I wrong in thinking you are only assigned one for end of life care??

Many thanks

  • Hi the moment my husband was diagnosed with mouth cancer a Macmillan nurse was in the room, she was invaluable whilst he was having treatment. When a terminal diagnosis was given and care was provided in the community another Macmillan nurse was provided via the hospice. Again another wonder woman who really helped my poor husband during the last 6 months of his life.

Sadly my sister has just been diagnosed with a brain tumour and no Macmillan nurse has been assigned, she and her family really need one, but during these covid times things are not working as well as they could.
