ey everyone,im new to this and im also very new to ‘cancer’.so please do excuse me.
my mum has recently been diagnosed with secondry brain cancer and was straight away told it was way too advanced..
Back in july my mum went to her GP with chest pain, they sent her for a chest xray and they detected a mass. Mum was sent for further scans and to have biopsies, however it came back non-malignant! So they arranged further biopsies (differant kinds) 5 more to be exact and they all come back as non-malignant!! in between biopsies mum had a PET-scan and her adrenal glad was ‘hot’. Mum was told they feel this could be a secondry cancer so they sent her for an OP to removed both tumour and gland.
All in all from start to her OP it was almost 5 heartbreaking months! When sent off this adrenal mass came back as secondry with unkown prirmary but they strongly believed the primary was the lung.. Brilliant! we have answers, lets start treatment!
We was given a date for 2weeks timea to meet the specialist who will give us the plan! unfortunately my mum had a randon seizure during one night, she was referred for a a brain scan! The next day we was told heartbreaking news that there was cancer on the brain! we still held out hope! The next day we was told mums cancer was way to advanced and their was nothing they could do! This came as a huge huge shock considering all her biopsies came back clear! In the space of 3 weeka my mum has lost all use of her right side due to the pressure from the brain tumours.
Has a similar situation to mine ever happend to anyone else?
im totally lost for words, our world changed in the blink of an eye!
Thanks in advanced.
