Seeing GP

Has anyone else needed to see GP for help. Struggling on with everything. Hospital appointments averaging 4 times a week. Just so exhausted. Hoping for something positive from doc. Don't know if they can help

  • Hiya,

Hospital trips can be seriously gruelling especially when your making them all the time. I did visit my GP but for emotional reasons. I don't know what the doctors will be able to do for you but if your struggling I think visiting your GP is definitely a good idea, usually there is something that they can give you to help you.

  • Thanks Bex

Have suffered with anxiety for many years so I suppose this is all part and parcel. The situation is a very stressful one for all of us carers. Emotionally all over the place but determined to get through and support him

  • Hi,

It does get easier.  We had hospital visits each day Mon-Fri for 6 weeks.  Also had up to 1 1/2 hours travelling time each way.  It's hard, tiring and stressful.  No harm in seeing the GP, he might be able to give you something to help.  Another suggestion, maybe if a friend could take him one day a week.

  • Determination is a good trait to have I think, cancer journeys are exhausting for many different reasons and I admire your dedication to keep going and support as much as you can. I hope the doctors can help but otherwise the way I got through all the running around was coffee im afraid, im sorry I cant be more help.
