Hi Barbie,
I often wondered how my wife felt when I was diagnosed with prostate cancer nearly seven years ago. She has only just a few months ago told me she wasnt too worried as she just knew I would get over it. I was a bit surprised at first but I suppose its Womans intuition at its best. She is normally a big worrier.
But I do know from experiance its often easier being the patient than the carer. When I was being treated, to some degree I felt in control but when my mother was suffering from breast cancer it was a differnt thing alltogether. I can honestly say, I have never felt so helpless in my life for there was nothing I could do to stop the cancer. It made it worse as I was working full time and also had a grandson born with problems so he was in and out of hospital at the same time.
Sending kind thoughts to you and your husband, Brian.
thank you Brian - thats very kind - i am struggling with the thoughts of going back to work as i am off sick at present as i do not want to leave my husband - every decsion i need to make seems impossible - but i guess in time i will need to find more strength x
