chemo does it make you difficult

My mum is going through chemotherapy and is being extremely difficult she seems like she is never satisfied at whatever I do . I know it must be awful for her and I have no idea what she is going through but I always do my best but it's never good enough. Is this normal?

  • Hi I carnt remember being difficult but everyone is different. She probably doesn't want to worry you but I found it helped to talk about everything some people find it hard because it makes it real.

i had 6 lots of Chemo it's not nice and you have your ups and down days were you are tired. I did feel frustrated that all of a sudden I couldn't do things I took for granted.

Maybe instead of you being on here your mum should be so she can ask questions.

One good piece of advice I was given was not to listen to other people's stories about cancer unless they have been through it. I used to stop anyone who tried to tell me about a neighbour or friend who had cancer.

You also need support, I was always asking my husband if he was ok because the career sometimes get forgotten

  • During chemo I became a bit snappy and impatient, but not all of the time. Not sure why but your mother will become less difficult.
