About Simon77

I am 51 and recently been diagnosed with Oesophageal Cancer after recently developing Barrett's Disease. It is scary but I have been heartened by colleagues and friends. My wife is really supportive too. My process begins on Tuesday with CT scan, then maybe a Laparoscopy? PET, then chemo for 9 weeks or so. I have also been advised about an operation early 2016 to remove tumour/ lower Oesophagus. It seems there is a plan of action to fix me, but I am aware that the scans are extremely important at this stage. Update after CT scan last month is that it spread to secondary in my liver and inoperable. I am very mentally strong and positive and appreciate that lifespan has been shortened but will enjoy as taking early retirement . I will also be taking Herceptin soon after testing positive which is great news..
