Dad has had a prostectomy

I'm trying to understand where Dad is up to in regard to his cancer. Three weeks ago Dad had his prostate removed via robotic surgery, he had to go back the first week because he was bleeding from his penis not in the urine. We tried not to worry too much as we were told this can happen sometimes. Despite the obvious pain from surgery Dad has been so brave. I know he is mortified that he cannot control his bladder, he's a proud man. Though he doesn't talk about it, we understand and respect his space to come to terms with this. We were told that dad would be returning to hospital for post op checkup on the 2nd August. The hospital called today and his oncologist wants to see my dad on Monday. It looks like the cancer has spread from his prostate it was aggressive. Dad hasn't had any form of treatment before his surgery. Does that mean it can still be treated and cured hopefully . I don't understand all the different terms used what they mean. Thank you xxx
