My bestfriend has Cancer

On Wednesday 8th June my 17 year old friend was diagnoised with Acute granulocytic leukemia. She started coughing up  blood wednesday rushed into hospital and then Friday got told she has AGL. Shes been given 3-5 weeks to live as its been caught to late :( Shes 17 and never had any medical problems and lives a healthy live. Now she has to come to terms with this. We were due to travel the world together at the end of the year. I dont know how i'm going to cope. She will be my 2nd best friend I've lost this year. I love a my internet buddy 8 weeks ago because of bullying which caused to to take her life. How do you all cope? I have GAD (generalised anixety disorder) and PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) so this has through me over the edge. How do cope? How do I support my friend?

I am also very sorry to read what you have had been through and can completely understand why you may be feeling all over the place right now. Everyone has different ways of coping with such life changing events but many of our members have found that it is good to talk and express your feelings so if you feel like you may not be ready to do that with family and friends just yet you are more than welcome to post here where our lovely community will be more than willing to offer you support and advice whenever you need it.

We also have a list of charities and support groups for young people which might be of use to you and your friend. You can find out more here under 'Young people's cancer information and support'.

    I hope this helps.
