How do you cope

Just found out my dad has cancer in both of his lungs. It's awful to watch him coughing and short of breath.  Treatment to start next week. But I am so scared as it's stage 4. My two siblings think I'm the strong one.

i live 200 miles away which makes it hard but have a very supportive extended family.  Keep crying at moment. Need to find strength from somewhere.

    Hello Kully, 

    It must be very hard to watch your dad coughing and short of breath. You did the right thing though to join this forum as you will find some strength here and some comfort from talking to others who understand and who also have a loved one with lung cancer.

    Living so far away must make things harder for you but I am sure your dad knows that you are there for him even if you don't live next door. It's great you have a very supportive family. I am sure you will also find some supportive friends here on this forum who can understand better than anyone how you are feeling at the moment.
