My husbands cancer has spread

My name is Gillie and I thank God for finding this forum. My husband has had two operation for bowel cancer. In January he had another operation on his liver. All was well in April but at his checkup last month we were told the cancer has reappeared on his liver. I am gutted and frighted. Cant believe life is so very cruel.

Best wishes, Gillie

  • Hi Gillie

This forum does indeed have a wonderful team of Moderators so you can contact them at the top of the page if you wish.

Volunteering is a great way to benefit others as well as yourself if you have spare time to fill and it helps you focus on other things.  I still work just a couple of shifts a week which gives my week a bit of structure but am luckily still enjoying my walking and being located not far from London am lucky to have free travel so often go (with my camera for company) to places of interest.

I had the support of  my hubby's GP for a good few months following his death and still chat about him to anyone who is in earshott and of course, the family and in laws still support each other whilst slowing moving forward and making new memories. It was hard when my son married and they had their two children as my hubby would have been over the moon to see them happy and settled but it was not to be.

I had my Mum's funeral yesterday so a family gathering (very small) but she was a great age (93) so an end of another era. I will  be back to work tomorrow so this evening will try and reflect and relax and am attending a wedding next Sunday to will focus on that perhaps.

Take care and sending virtual hugs.  Jules
