Mum

Mum is slowly getting worse now - she's had recent multiple rib fractures and is complaining about pain in her skull neck and legs now - has anyone else dealt with similar / it's difficult to carry on as normal with work and everything and I feel so helpless sometimes

  • Hi, Nala, When I was giving birth to one of my children and was in a lot of pain, I remember my husband saying that watching someone you love suffering is worse than being the actual patient.  I was angry at the time and couldn't understand.  A few years later he was in intensive care for 10 weeks before dying and then I fully understood what he meant.  Just sitting there, knowing he was so ill but being unable to do anything was worse than any pain I have ever had.

You are doing your best for your mum and I am sure she knows this and is grateful for all you do.  Can I wish you all the best and hope that you mum gets some pain relief.  Thinking of you both.
