Dad has stage 4 prostate cancer and drinks

My dad was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer which had metastized in March and it's been incredibly up and down. He recently had his last round of chemo and is waiting on a scan to essentially see if it's all been 'worth it'. However, he acts erratically and often drinks alcohol as a coping mechanism. This has been an occurence for years when things would get difficult so this is nothing new but in his more fragile state I am incredibly worried about him. He tends to disappear and refuse to pick up his phone. When he comes back he acts like everything is fine but I find empty bottles and cans hidden in his room. I am working full time so I can't keep watch over him but I feel so exhausted about what my life has become. He's very down on himself about getting help, stating that there are many people more worse off than him and that he is being useless but my entire family try to convince him otherwise. He did go to a Maggies Centre recently but came home and very obviously had had something to drink, and I found an empty vodka bottle in his room this morning. I just don't know what to do. It feels like there's nothing I can say or do that will make this better. I worry for my mum and my brother. He is only 21 and I am 24. It just all feels very downhill from here.
