Mum has NSCLC stage 4, with spread to brain, just had a massive stroke

My mum was diagnosed with stage 4 NSCLC back in November (hardly seems any time ago at all), and at the time of diagnosis only reported met was to her adrenal gland. Shortly after christmas, just after she had started treatment, it was found that the cancer had spread to her brain and she was referred for gamma knife radiation. During the gamma knife planning scans it was found that she had way way more extensive mets in her brain than they thought, kind of crazy given that she was completely functional. Shortly after having the gamma knife, she started to feel very unwell and was admitted to hospital, a few days later she had a massive stroke.

I just don't know what to do with myself. When she was diagnosed they told her she probably had a few more years ahead of her with immunotherapy treatment, and now without even really getting going on any treatment she is basically a vegetable. She doesn't recognize me, and she is completely paralyzed down her left side and unable to speak.

I know her chances of any meaningful recovery are basically zero. I can't believe how quickly we have gone from 'a couple good years left' to her basically being dead.

Just looking to share with people who get it I guess... i wish i had known when i left the hospital yesterday that it would be the last real conversation i ever got to have with her.
