My husband

Totally gutted with the cancer treatment service we have in the UK, my husband seems to be no use anymore so is treated as an inconvenience to society, he has lung cancer with mets to his brain and promised every bit of help but up till now I have done most of the care and financial stuff on my own, the support you see on the telly is totally fictional, no-one has time for us, my husband is 65 and will draw his state pension next year but I deeply feel this will not happen as our NHS will not  use resources on a dying white British, tax paying, ni stamp paying man. It's all wrong

  • Im sorry to read that you are in the same situation I was in 2-3 years ago. I was very alone, very exhausted, and felt totally let down. His oncologist told me to contact the palliative care team for support and when I did they said they only helped with medication and signposting support. The one thing I wish I would have done, is contact a local hospice. There is support there, but my husband didn't want to be involved with any hospice. But the support is there for us too. Do you have any hospices that are nearby?
