Hi, a bit of background! my husband just got diagnosed with stage 1b superficial melanoma no ulceration size 10mm x 15mm, biopsy removed it but waiting for WLE and SLN date, hospital shows waiting list of 18 weeks average so would be towards end of November.
no lymph nodes were palpable 4 weeks ago but at the weekend we found a lump above the collarbones we have contacted out MacMillan cancer nurse 4 times but no response so went to GP yesterday who said she thinks the lump is too big for a swollen lymph node but will put on 2 week wait list for Ultra sound, ordered blood tests and a chest x ray. These have both been done already.
Anyway, we have the holiday of a lifetime booked in 3 weeks time to Disney world with our children and grand daughter, my husband is adamant we are going regardless of the node outcome etc. I don’t know what to think, will 2 weeks make a difference to the whole outcome? He is saying he wants to do the holiday before he goes down the path he may need too and it will give him time to prepare for as well as a distraction for a few weeks, is this a good idea? Sorry this is really long.
