Where do I start with this, on Easter Sunday just under 3 weeks ago I got a call from my dads partner to say he was slurring his speech and 111 had called an ambulance, the paramedics turn d up and he was be blue lighted to a and e. From here the hospital done tests and found a bleed on the brain and what looked like 8 metastases around the brain. They then rushed him through for an MRI and CT scan to find out a more detailed picture of what was going on and found my dad has lung cancer which has spread into his blood, brain, glands and other vital organs. He stayed 5 days in hospital had a biopsy and we met with the oncologist last week and they offered him treatment which will prolong his life. This will be in the form of chemotherapy and immunotherapy which he had his first dose of today. I am so proud of him (he doesn’t realise how much) and i have promised him i will be there every step of the way with him supporting him. We are staying positive as a family for my dad but i keep thinking how quickly this has all happened literally with in 19 days, it has been a lot to digest for us all but we are keeping our heads up and staying
Has anyone else been through something similar? happy for you to give advice and help with anything you feel i could do to support my dad further and make sure he is as happy as he can be
