Losing a friend - close friend has terminal cancer which is getting worse

Hi

i am finding things very difficult at the moment as a close friend has terminal cancer, and this is unfortunately progressing.
she lives a 4 hour drive away, which is heartbreaking as I can’t be with her as much as I would like. I have been to visit as often as I can, but feel so useless and hate not being able to go to her when needed to give her a hug

  • Hi there, I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I'm going through similar with my mum at the moment - visiting as much as possible but we don't live in the same city. We send voicenotes on Whatsapp most days, and even if she's not feeling up to replying, I can see she's listened, and that's a small connection we have each day even if we haven't seen eachother. Sending love x

  • Hi

thanks so much for responding to my message, it just helps to know other people are thinking of you. I’m so sorry you are going through the same with your mum.
I find it so hard not being with my friend to give her a hug and support her physically.
she is very private too so I don’t know how much her condition has worsened until I travel over to see her.  It’s such a hard position to be in isnt  it.
