Terminal Prognosis - Undifferentiated Pleomorphic Sarcoma Lung Mets

I am worried about whats going to happen as my Husband progresses through his end of life journey .

Will I recognise the signs that he is deteriorating? How do I prepare mentally ?

We have both accepted his prognosis of between 6 to 12 months ... but we are now in the last 6 months and I find I am constantly watching him

and I can't shake the thoughts that it's coming very soon.

How did you cope with these feelings?

  • A very warm welcome to the Cancer Chat community Camille56, although I'm so sorry to hear about your husband.

I can't begin to imagine how difficult and heart-breaking this must be for the both of you, but I'm glad you've reached out to us Camille as so many of our members will understand what you're going through right now, so you are not alone, and I'm sure it won't be long until you receive some support and advice on how to cope with these feelings.

We do have some information on what signs to look out for in the final weeks and days, as well as some advice on caring for the carer during this time, but if you would like to discuss any of this further with one of our cancer nurses, they're available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m. They're very easy to talk to and will do all they can to support you, and address your queries and concerns.

We're thinking of you Camille and sending all our strength and support to you and your husband.

    Kind regards,

    Steph, Cancer Chat Moderator
