  • Welcome to Cancer Chat, Joyski.
I’m so sorry to hear about your mum’s diagnosis, it must feel incredibly overwhelming, especially with all the uncertainty and the waiting between appointments. It’s no wonder you’re finding it hard to stay strong, especially with being an only child and caring for your mum, all while dealing with the stress and anxiety of the situation.
It sounds like you’re doing everything you can to support her, and it’s completely natural to feel the way you do. This community is here for you, and many people understand the difficult emotions you’re going through.
If you’re looking for more information, you might find this page from our website on lung cancer helpful.
Also, our nurses are here to take your call if you feel like speaking with them might help. They’re available on 0808 800 4040, Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.
I hope you find some clarity and support soon. Take care of yourself as well.
    Best wishes,

  • Hi

i can empathise with how you are feeling.

This is very similar to my experience it’s very frustrating and disappointing.  Also hard to keep explaining to an elderly parent what’s happening and why there are lengthy periods of inactivity, whilst trying not to show it’s stressing you out
