Has anyone else had experience of caring for someone with Cancer but they never have discussed or mentioned or referenced end of life? My mum has been told that with latest developments, it is likely to be weeks or months. Once that was explained neither my mum or dad have ever mentioned again. They are continuing on as if a miracle will happen. Or nothing will happen and we'll just continue as things are for ever.
I find it so hard, which I feel selfish for as it's not me facing it. My worry is mum hasn't and won't reach a point of acceptance. Neither will Dad. I can't be at peace until can gauge that she is at peace.
My way is to have things in the open, set it all out and then we can all deal with it. I struggle with heads in sand and ignoring the inevitable.
My mum is strong and she is a fighter but she's not superhuman. She can only fight so long.
I just feel so confused.
