Invasive Ductile Carcinoma Nottingham grade 3

My sister was just diagnosed with Invasive Ductile Carcinoma g3.

She lives in Zimbabwe and I live in the UK… I dont know what to do, im the baby of the family, and theres no family there to help her. She has a son and is also in an extremely abusive relationship. Shes asked me to organise custody of my nephew so that if she dies I get guardianship.

Zimbabwes healthcare system has collapsed over the years, they literally only have one radiotherapy machine in the whole country! And its prone to being out of order.

Shes asked me to do a *** to help her pay for her treatments, which a friend is going to help me set up because i have zero clue.

I was thinking, if anyone knows if its possible for her to come here and get treatment instead? If so, how do I do that?

  • Welcome to the forum voice-of-revelation although I'm really sorry to hear about your sister's diagnosis and situation. I can't begin to imagine how difficult and upsetting this must be for you both.

If your sister is not comfortable or able to discuss her relationship with her doctor then I hope some of the helplines provided on this webpage will help. As you'll see, there are a range of contact numbers that your sister can call which provide support and advice for anyone who is experiencing sexual and/or domestic violence.

As to whether your sister is able to access medical treatment in the UK, I hope this information we have about cancer treatment for overseas visitors will help.

I do hope some of the information I have provided will be useful but you may be able to get further information, support and advice from your GP.

    Best wishes to you both,
