My hubby has cancer, originally in his oesopegus , lymph nodes in neck, lower stomach and back, he had 6 month of chemo, within 4 weeks after it has moved to his liver, another 2 weeks it is not now in left hip and right lower back rib. He has had a week in hospital with jaundice and sepsis but finally I got him home last Sunday, Is there any professionals out there that can roughly give me a prognosis? he doesn't want to know- hence me asking on here and not his oncologist.  Thank you in anticipation.

  • Hi my partner wanted to know but it was best i thought she didn't because who realy wants to thats my oppinion of caurse  .i dont think anyone realy knows with this rotton disease even oncologists from what ive seen and read!  . but i can empathize on how you feel . Just make everyday count say all you can and how you feel the love etc look after yourself to as we tend to let ourselves go a tad carers realy suffer and we tend to forget that. .paul

  • Welcome to Cancer Chat Costal although I'm sorry to hear about your husband.

This must be such a difficult time for you both at the moment but unfortunately no-one on the forum can give you a prognosis. If you're able to get your husband's permission, you can speak about this privately with his oncologist. I know this might be a tricky discussion to have, but I do hope your hubby understands and will allow you to discuss this with his oncologist.

If you'd like some further information and advice you're welcome to give our cancer nurses a call on 0808 800 4040. Their phone lines are open Monday - Friday between 9a.m - 5p.m.

    Best wishes to you both,
