Help please

Hi, it's all a bit of long story which I will share another time...but my partner has gone from being told it was stage 4 and he had 3 months to 2 year two weeks ago and then this week after more scans, we've been told it's actually only a couple of weeks.

He wants to come home so I've had oxygen and the hospital bed delivered, we were told it would be Monday, but they have now said he could come home tomorrow.

My question is, where do I get sheets for the hospital bed? It's an extended one as he is over 6ft.

Any help would be amazing as it's another over whelming thing I need to get right.

Thank you in advance x

  • Hi Lizzie you should have a hospice nearbye .if you find the localal number ring them and explain whats happening they have teams that come out and look at your home and work out what you need etc .but you should have a dedicated cancer nurse at the hospital they will refer you to the hospice at least thats what they do here . I was in hospital for a while rather than sheets i baught 2 xtral large fleece blankets these are realy excellent they make it so you can move around in bed as you slide on them rather than suffel around in stiff sheets i didnt get sore either .they are easy to wash and dry in 30 mins and warmer . So much more comfortable .best wishs . Paul

  • Just rung them and they can't help until Monday, cancer must only happen during the week!!

  • It would seem that way now .but you should be able to get the large fleece blankets . From most big stores i got them  off the market .but asda may have them .or one of the mill shops .much better than sheets . I was in hospital two months ago only in three days and ended up with a bed sore wish i had taken them then .why they don't use them in hospital is beyond me but good luck if you can get help monday thats better than nothing .ime afraid the nhs is not the same now as it used to be sadly
