Lymphoma

My father is 87 and has been diagnosed  with aggressive  large B Cell Lymphoma. Stage 4

Chemotherapy  he couldn't  cope and other therapies so the doctors  have stopped  his treatment  and said nothing  further they can do. So how long can a person survive  if there is no treatment  been given?

  • Hello PRP

I'm sorry to hear about your Father's diagnosis and that unfortunately he's not been able to tolerate the treatments available. It's understandably a difficult time for you all.

It's difficult for us to give any kind of time frame. His clinical team will be the best people to talk to this about although I understand that that may be difficult if your Father is present.

If you wanted to chat things through with one of our nurses you're most welcome to call them on 0808 800 4040, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm (excluding bank holidays).

    Best wishes,

  • Dear Jenn,

Thank you for your reply. My sister just got a call today from one of the Mcmillian  nurses   to put palliative  care in place  for my father.

So will ask the team. As the consultant  my father is under, they keep on taking  his bloods and carrying  out CT scans but if no treatment  is given then what purpose does it is serving, so they will look into  this.

    Thank you.
