Hi it can be weeks or months before you have side effects from Decapeptyl injections, i started with putting on weight slowly, didn't realize at first , after about 6 months started hot flushes .
i was diagnosed Feb 2016 , on injections for life, I've slowly got weight off and flushes have eased alot ,no other side effects for me.
.my cancer went to lymph nodes spine ribs pelvis and a lung, classed as palative care . stage 4 T3B N1 M1B Gleason 8 PSA was 1581 last time 0.04 .
Good luck with your treatment .
Billy
Remember im a cancer patient not medically trained , just my own experience and talking to others.
Thank you Billy,
I've been trying for weeks to get an answer to my question, unsuccessfully. None of the healthcare professionals want to answer. I suppose it's because each person has a different experience.

Hi and thanks for the post
Decapeptyl is used as a treatment for prostate cancer and people will have many different experiences with this drug as with other treatments also.
Some people will notice side effects from the very start of treatment, while for others it may take much longer - sometimes up to six months or so - it does vary. Again, some will have many side effects, others may get just one or two, or very minimal effects.
Try and not worry about this, as people's experiences will be so very different. In case you haven't come across this already there is some more information about this drug here
Do give us a ring if you would like to go over anything with us on Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open from 9am till 5pm Monday to Friday.
