A blood test won't be able to show whether you have acid reflux. Routine blood tests may give information about anaemia, infection, how well your liver and kidneys are working , or what your blood sugar is like. There are many more different types of blood tests, but you would need to check with your practice nurse or GP as to what bloods you had done.

Hi im not medically trained, but im on omeprazole to help with sickness because I've a hiatus hernia and my stomach acid is high up so can cause vomiting and bad taste in mouth and reaching.

I have mine early morning before food most times but found doesn't really matter,to me there should be a note in the packet to help you.

Ps mine were a yellow capsule just changed to blue and white.

So with food, either just before or after is OK?

There are instructions within but they don't actually say how to take the tablets. 

The blood tests were standard FBC and yellow top (liver etc...). I've been having throat issues for about 6 weeks. The doctor gave me omeprazole because she thinks one possibility might be reflux.

Yeh I had throat issues ,take them whenever really 

May I ask what problems you had?

I've been worrying myself sick over throat cancer :/

Unsure if it's anxiety or genuinely something amiss.

For years now I've had weird feelings in my throat,had a camera down there and allsorts,told I had reflux years ago so started with omaprazole, I still have issues with my throat sometimes but also have anxiety,which makes it worse,

Just to clarify how to take omeprazole, and as the NHS website says, it is ok to take it with food or on an empty stomach but swallow capsules or tablets whole. It is mostly taken in the morning but if your doctor wants you to have it twice a day, spilt up the dose, one in the morning and one in the evening.
