Cancer in mediastinal lymph nodes

I have an appointment tomorrow for results following several scans of possible metastases in mediastinal lymph nodes. Are you able to direct me to any information about this - potential treatments or other helpful info?

Many thanks.

Helen

  • Hi there Helen and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about your situation and appreciate what an anxious time this must be for you.

Hopefully your appointment will go well today and afterwards you will have a clearer understanding of your situation and what needs to happen next.

The treatment of metastatic mediastinal lymph nodes will depend on the primary cancer site alongside the extent of nodes affected and any previous treatment you have had.

Often systemic treatments such as chemotherapy or Immunotherapy or if appropriate a targeted drug is used. However there are times when surgery or radiotherapy may also be offered.

Do take a list of questions with you to ask the doctor when you see them to make sure you get the answers you need.

We are here weekdays 9-5 on 0808 800 4040 if you wish to talk things through over the phone.

    Best wishes

    Naomi
