Aching breast

Hi very anxious had a aching breast for few weeks went gp

he found a lump I couldn’t feel

it still unsure whether I can to be honest I’m 54 started HRT in October 1mg of gel recently upped it to 1.5mg taking progesterone at night could it me the HRt going hospital on Monday

    A very warm welcome to the forum.

    I am sorry to hear about your aching breast. Some cancers feed on Oestrogen which is a component of HRT, so many are advised to stop taking HRT. I am glad to see that you have an appointment on Monday and I'm sure that your consultant will give you the necessary advice then. Not all lumps are cancerous. Many turn out to be cysts or Fibroadenoma. It is a fact that only 20% of those who attend the breast clinic will get a cancer diagnosis.

    I’m sorry to read about your breast lump but pleased you are going to be assessed in the breast clinic today.

    There could be a number of reasons for this lump other than cancer or being on HRT so try not to over think things until this is investigated properly.

    Ah thank you had had an examination, mammogram and ultrasound sound have a lot of glandular tissue in right one and a cyst but cyst looks fine   just go back if it’s gets sore or infected xx such a relief  knocks the stuffing out of you as some people in that unit aren’t as lucky 

    I asked was it caused by hrt he said he couldn’t say either way but it’s like starting puberty again as your putting hormones in I really don’t know whether to stop taking it plus still in the back off mg mind mind im Thinking is it definitely a cyst
