Basal cell carcinoma on eyelid

  • Hi, I have a diagnosis of basal cell carcinoma and am awaiting excision and reconstruction of my eyelid. I am nervous about how I will look afterwards as the way I look is key to my profession and also about eyelid function. I'd love to speak to someone to find out more if possible and thank you.

    It is really only your surgeon who can tell you what your eyelid will look like after your surgery. They will rebuild your eyelid carefully and aim for normal function and a natural look. There will be a scar, but it usually fades over time. Most people end up with good eyelid function and appearance.

    You have posted on the ask the nurses section of the forum but you might be asking for other users experience. Anyone is welcome to reply on here but you may get more response from others who may be or have gone through similar by posting in a different section of the forum as well as here.
