An ultrasound has shown that I have a thickened endometrium and polyp. My gp has referred me to gynae, but is saying it’s not an urgent appt as the thickened endometrium will be because of adenomyosis. The symptoms I am having seem to be both the same for endometrial cancer and adenomyosis, except I don’t have painful periods. I am concerned as I am not sure how they have diagnosed this without a biopsy, and that it could be more sinister. I don’t know if I should be pushing for an urgent referral or if it’s ok to wait?
