Hi Trsp, I am sorry to hear you’re going through this. I had a vulval biopsy 9 weeks ago (querying melanosis/melanoma), I’m based in the North West and I’ve still not had my results. I’ve been reading these forums a lot as you could imagine, and a lot of people are waiting at least 6 - 10 weeks to hear anything back. I am completely and utterly gobsmacked by how long the waiting times are. Apparently it’s due to delays and professional shortages. I have health anxiety so struggling a lot mentally with this. It’s nice to have these forums to connect and share concerns. I’m hoping everything goes well for you and your results come back quickly.

 It is just awful the wait that people are having to endure . All the while trying to convince yourself you'll be fine ! It's very difficult to put it to the back of your mind and carry on as normal . Sadly all we can do is wait and know you're not alone and there are lots of people in similar situations albeit it's ridiculous and worrying . I hope you hear soon too and that all is well . Hi Trsp I have just had a vulva biopsy, previously having been diagnosed with VIN3 and was told 2-4 weeks for results although i'm in the North West. The results for my previous biopsy in May last year however actually took 12 weeks to come back! It's so frustrating just waiting but I would advise to give it 4 weeks then chase up if still not heard. Good luck x

Thank you for commenting . It just seems ridiculous to be waiting for what could potentially be a very concerning diagnosis . It'll be 7 weeks on Monday since biopsy . I think I'll phone GP next week but I just feel I'll get told that I still need to wait as if hope they'd have got in touch with results if they had them . Appreciate you taking time out to reply . Fingers crossed for you too x

When I waited so long the first time, I phoned the gynae department at the hospital where I had it done to chase up. They were very helpful and the second time I chased the results had come back but the consultant hadn't yet wrote her report so she sent a message to her to remind her how long I'd been waiting then I got the letter through soon after that. So definitely worth chasing up with the department or secretary at the hospital as I don't think GP can do much x
