Psa - is this rise significant, although it's extremely low?

My GP added psa to my regular yearly bloods. I had a prostatectomy in February thus year. The bloods went to a different testing centre. The last psa in september was >0.03. This was tested in Doncaster. The latest Gp sample was 0.04. As stated this was tested at another lab. Is the rise in psa and or different lab significant, although it is extremely low?

  • Hello and thanks for posting

The PSA levels can fluctuate occasionally but a level going from 0.03 to 0.04 is still within normal limits. Doctors usually look at the trend over several PSA results not just one ideally using the same laboratory.
