I have had a lump in left breast for 10 years, had it checked numerous times and told it’s ok. My whole breast are tender (I’m 39 and experiencing many perimenopause symptoms) is there a chance I’ll have this lump forever?

I've had a breast lump for over 10 years and had it checked many times and all said it's ok.
Until my recent hysterectomy this lump started to get very tender but once I had my ovaries removed and was put into surgical menopause the lump has shrunk massively.
They said definitely a hormonal thing
Hello Cath86 and thanks for your post,
The majority of benign lumps/cysts disappear over time but in some cases they never completely go away.
You may be interested in reading Breast Cancer Now's information about benign cysts.
If of course you notice any changes in the cyst or it appears to get any bigger then do go back and get it checked by your GP.
I hope this helps.
All the best,
Catherine
Thank you. I feel like I am perimenopausal so that would made sense but the pain of the breasts is just constant.
Glad you’re well and things have improved.
