I had my appendix removed at the start of July. Four weeks later I received the news that my biopsy confirmed a grade 2 goblet cell adenocarcinoma tumor on my appendix. By surgeon is hopeful that it is a T1 tumour. In the following weeks I had a procedures and scan. I received feed back that my colonoscopy showed no concerning abnormalities, my CT showed no free fluid in my abdomen however my local hospital declined to discuss my PET-CT with me. I understand my cancer is really rare and only 1 in 1 million people get this cancer so I understand that my local hospital have now sent all my results to hospital for them to formal stage and make a plan. My local hospital have advised me that I will be discussed at hospital on the 8th September however I'm likely not going to be informed of the outcome until the 17th September. I honestly don't know how much more my anxiety is going to let me hang in here and I'm concerned that no lymph nodes where harvest at the time of my appendectomy and don't understand how they will be able to stage accurately without knowing this information. Due to these tumours being aggressive and unpredictable I'm also concerned about the amount of time this is all taking and the effect that may have on my over all outcome.
Any advice or words of wisdom welcome.
