E45 or balneum itch relief cream can cool the itch from the rash. As can steroid creams. Using non scented emmolient bath oil instead of soap can help too. Lukewarm water instead of hot.
Where there is no rash or visible irritation is more difficult to treat and you should ask at your clinic.

Hello Caroline and thanks for your post,
I am sorry to hear about the symptoms that you are experiencing. As I am not involved in your care and know what medication you are on it would be good to let the nurses on the helpline know about the rash.
We have some general information on our website about side-effects
Dry skin can be a common problem with chemotherapy treatment and for sometime afterwards. I would speak to the pharmacist at the local chemist and ask their advice on what you can use. There are many different unscented products that may help such as E45.
Avoid soap and use aqueous cream for a while for washing until the itching settles down.
Dry skin can make it very itchy but hopefully if you keep it well moisturised and avoid any scented products this should get better.
You are going to be more sensitive to the strong sun so do avoid sitting out in it whilst your skin is feeling so sensitive.
If it doesn't seem to be clearing up then do speak to your GP for their advice particularly if the itching is not getting better.
If you would like to talk any of this through with one of the helpline nurses then you are welcome to give us a ring.
the number to call is Freephone 0808 800 4040 and the lines are open Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.
All the best,
Catherine
