Cancer sweats?

Hi,

I have melanoma diagnosis with spread to lymph nodes, had surgery just over a week ago and dressings changed yesterday (quite a large skin graft needed and excision was LARGE) . I have been suffering with night sweats for quite a few months but over the last week I've begun uncontrollably sweating during day also ( even during menopause I didn't have it to this extent) . It's so bad I'm soaking! It runs down my face in rivulets!

Is this normal with my diagnosis or should I contact someone?

Thanking in advance guys x

  • Hi there and thanks for the post

I am sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis and surgery and the sweats you are currently experiencing.

As others on here have said, sweating isn't usually a symptom of this type of cancer. Due to the op being quite recent it may be related to that and to be on the safe side I suggest speaking with your team to let them know.

The doctor may like to assess you and the wound and check you out just to make sure nothing untoward is going on.

I hope you know more and that things settle down for you soon.

    Take care
