I just wanted to let you know that our nurses work between 9a.m - 5p.m so although you won't hear from them this evening, they will get back to you as soon as they can.

Hello, and thank you for posting.

I am sorry that you are worried about a borderline smear result.

This does not mean you have cancer. Sticking to the NHS cervical screening programme means that any abnormal cells are removed before they could possibly mature into a cancerous cell in the future.

I can understand that when you have lost your parents, it can make you think and worry more about your health. But do be reassured that very few cancers are hereditary.

If you are worried about cancer, then reading our pages on reducing your risk may be helpful.
