I am sorry to hear about your sister and I can understand that you want to know more. It is difficult to tell you too much about her cancer without being involved in her care. You may find it helpful to suggest that you go to an appointment with your sister so you can see what is involved.

Treatment for patients is treated very individually and many women do receive chemotherapy and radiotherapy.

Breast MDT where all the doctors involved in her care would have decided the best treatment for her particular cancer.

Often a lumpectomy is performed if the surgeon feels that this is the best surgery for a patient. The operation is less invasive and they can recover more quickly. The surgeon always makes sure that there is a healthy margin of skin around the area that was removed.
