Post Menopausal Bleeding

Hi

I have experience Post Menopausal bleeding for the first time, saw doctor on Tuesday and I've got an appointment with Gynaecology on Monday.  Having now googled I have gone into full panic mode, I have been experiencing hip pain and back pain but just put that down to weight and poor fitness.  I am on HRT would this be the cause?  Can anyone tell me what to expect at my Gynae appointment on Monday.

  • I wish you well at your hospital appointment today, I will be thinking of you.  I've just had a call to book my hysteroscopy and polypectomy for next Wednesday 5th.  I'm very impressed with my NHS experience so far although the speed of the appointments does make you anxious.

  • Hi, yeah the nhs has been good and very quick hopefully it continues for all the people waiting on appointments , surgery.. i had an internal ultrasound and all looked ok so far and gynaecologist took a biopsy so just awaiting results be a few weeks she said.. hoping you are keeping well.

  • Update today from having had a Hysteroscopy and Polypectomy under a local anesthetic.

Fibroid was small and not causing any issues, everything else looked normal, however a biopsy has been taken to make sure.

I've had a Marina Coil fitted to help with bleeding.

Conclusion bleeding likely to have been caused by an hormone imbalance related to my HRT medication.

Procedure was uncomfortable at times but totally manageable for me.  Worse bit was biopsy it felt similar to one labour contraction.

    Happy to answer any questions.

  • Hi, I'm the exact same. Was recently put on hrt and since then I'm having so much bother, I was sent for a US and it has came back thinkining of the womb. The dr didn't tell me how thick it was only he sending me to gyena. Had to get my bloods took Ca125 so I'm hoping it's nothing to serious x

  • Hi JJwilson95

Just came across your post and wondering how you are? I have the same symptoms as you and have put all of them down (save the post menopausal bleeding) to gall stones. I had my gall bladder removed 6 weeks ago and the symptoms have not gone away. I have an ultrasound and biopsy on Thursday. I am scared and in pain. I have stomach pain, pain in back passage and pelvis (I had put the pelvic pain down to the arthritis I have in my hip).

I really hope that have been seen and your symptoms have resolved or are being dealt with.

    Best wishes

    Tina

  • Hi there Tina and thanks for posting on here

I am sorry to hear about your recent surgery and the symptoms you are experiencing.

Hopefully you will have some more information after the ultrasound and biopsy. Do let your doctor know about your ongoing symptoms so they can help you manage these.

The person who you are replying to hasn't posted for a while which is why I thought I would get back to you instead.

    Wishing you all the best

    Naomi

  • Thanks Naomi

I have spoken to my Dr about the continuing symptoms when I went to see her about the bleeding and she is concerned they are now not to do with gall bladder as should not be continuing.
I will hopefully get some answers tomorrow at the scan.

    thankyou

Hi Tina. I hope your okay, it's an awful worrying time. Please don't Google, it's the worst thing to do. It always tells us the worst stories and not the good ones.

they put bleeding down to HRT and had to increase it.

I'll say a little prayer for you & I'll be thinking of you. Please keep in touch xx
