i was diagnosed with Prostrate Cancer a few months , yet found out very  recently that it’s aggressive . I have hormone injections every three months and injections into my left eye every month.

assuming the injections keep working , how long will I live as my Wife is very poorly and mentally ill too ,so it’s.very important to know when planning what’s left of our future.

i  struggle to up and down our hallway , some 60feet up to 150 times a day. Plus ten sit ups too. Will this help me fight 

the condition ?

    Hi Mandy Irene, I am so sorry to hear about you and your wife.

    I have aggressive prostate cancer too, and still doing ok 3 years on, and its impossible to give you a prognosis, aggressive prostate cancer doesn't mean its not curable, and if it's not, treatable for many years, we all respond differently to therapies and drugs, and which ones you are able to take safely, I cannot have chemotherapy or surgery, some cancers are more sensitive to certain treatments, and there are new treatments becoming available all the time, I think most will agree, and your oncologist too, that they just don't know how long you have.

    I read you were having problems with financial support,  www.maggies.org have a Benefits advisor, you may have one near your hospital, but if not,you can call them.

    And yes the exercises will be a big help to you.

    I am sorry to hear about you having prostate cancer and your wife's ill health as well, this must be difficult for you.

    It sounds like you are trying to look after yourself, which is good to hear and very important for your general health and wellbeing. There also seems to be a recent study suggesting cancer patients who have a tailored exercise plan may live longer.

    Unfortunately we cannot say what the doctors may also be able to offer you treatment wise if the hormone therapy is no longer effective, do discuss this with them when you next see them. There are other treatments available for prostate cancer such as other medications, chemotherapy and radiotherapy, so hopefully there may be options beyond hormones suitable for you.

    Without being involved in your care it is impossible for us to comment on prognosis or time frames but this is something your specialist doctor may be able to help you with.

    Do ask the health professionals involved in your care more about your situation to get a better understanding of what the short and long term may look like for you.
